Q. Can anyone participate in the UK Longdrive series? A. YES! This event is open to everyone, you can enter through either your local club or through your regional finals venue.
Q. Is this event for amateurs or professionals?
A. BOTH! This event is for everyone, you may enter as an amateur or professional, but if you declare yourself as a professional you cannot reclaim your amateur status until the following year, this applies to both longdrive competition and traditional golf.
Q. Must I reach minimum distances to progress?
A. NO. There is no minimum distance to progress; you only need to finish in the top 2 or 3 to move to the next level.
Q. Can you summarise the format - I want to know how I become UK Longdriveseries champion.
A. There are 4 stages, club competition, regional finals, district finals and finally the UK Longdriveseries final, at each stage finish in the top 2 or 3 places and you will progress, then simply win the series final and you are UK Longdriveseries champion.
Q. Can I have a special driver for this competition?
A. Yes. All drivers used throughout this event must however comply with the R&A and USGA regulations. For further information please see www.usga.org / www.randa.org.
Q. Can I use my own golf balls?
A. Yes and NO! At local and regional level you may use your own golf ball but for the District competitions and the UK Longdriveseries final everyone will use the same golf ball.
Q. Where do I sign up?
A. Ask your golf club pro or club secretary in the first instance they should be aware of this event and be able to provide you with details, if they have not yet signed up ask them to email admin@uklongdriveseries.com and we will contact them within 48hours.
Q. This is all very interesting but I am a short hitter there is no way I am going to win this event, why should I even take part?
A. There are many benefits to ALL golfers ask your club pro for more information and make sure that your course is taking part.
